RH Bill and Facebook
When I posted this RH Bill infomercial video on Facebook, I never expected that somebody would feel negative about it. I reckon that such a negative perception about the bill is due to a continuous campaign to shoo away the bill through misinformation.
The RH bill does not advocate anti-life information and methods. The bill will not pave the way to the legalization of divorce, abortion, euthanasia, total contraception methods, or even same-sex marriages. It is not about immorality and all that jazz. It is not a “death bill” as what CBCP is referring it to. As to how the CBCP came up with these conclusions gives us a hint of how twisted their ideals are.
Like what I have blurted out on Facebook, one of the central components of this bill is the advocacy of family-planning for couples. This way, they can decide on the proper timing, spacing and number of their children, according to what their family can support. Included in this clause is the recommendation of the ideal family size to have two children only, but it is still for the family to decide for their own welfare. This will hold down the rapid growth of our population, and all the negative implications of this on our society as a whole.
Let’s refrain from wearing the guise of protecting life. A more pressing issue is not just about life; it’s also about the quality of life. Let’s create a sustainable future and a healthy environment. Support RH Bill!
