1. it is all about your performance.they can observe and motivate you with your performance.for instance, you are lazy.your boss will observe you, and he will motivate/approach you to do something to become a skilled worker.he/she will warned you.because you are lazy.the point is, when you are lazy some one will motivate and approach you to become responsible.
2. YES, because they will be challenge to study their lessons.
for example:A person will work on a pharmaceutical calculation,he/she will work on a solution to a problem because the challenge of finding a solution is provides a sense of pleasure.the person will work on it because he/she will got a high grade or reward.
