Orapronobis: Discussion Question
1. Many moral controversies today are couched in the language of rights. Indeed, we seem to have witnessed an explosion of appeals to rights—gay rights, prisoners’ rights, animal rights, smokers’ rights, fetal rights, and employee rights. Cite instances in the film where rights (of whatever nature) have been violated.
2. Virtues are attitudes, dispositions, or character traits that enable us to be and to act in ways that develop this potential. They enable us to pursue the ideals we have adopted. Honesty, courage, compassion, generosity, fidelity, integrity, fairness, self-control, and prudence are all examples of virtues. Differentiate the virtues of the vigilantes (Orapronobis) and those of the rebeldes.
3. Compare and contrast the political atmosphere prevalent during the Marcos regime and that of Cory Aquino’s administration. Describe the morality issues that each administration has faced.
